Morris offers several Adult
Sunday School Classes which meet on Sunday at 9:45 a.m. The current classes being offered at the
present time are:
- Julia Kendall - offers studies
into different books and study guides that reflect on how we deal with our
Christianity in our life today.
This class meets in the Library.
- Morris/Wesley Class - uses the
traditional Wesley literature and attracks many of our more traditional
members. The class meets in the
conference room.
- Morris Bible Class - goes
through the Bible, book by book, looking at how we look at passages of the
Bible today and adapt it into our own lives. This class meets on the second floor of
the education building in the quilters room.
Bible Study:
Sunday evenings and Wednesday morning and evening are all times
when Morris has active Bible studies. - Our Wednesday morning study is a verse by verse study that takes an
in-depth look at specific books of the Bible.
This group meets at 10:30 a.m.
- Our Young Adult Study meets at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, the same time as Kids
Praise. This group study's life's
situations and how the Bible can guide us in our adventure through it.
- Sunday evening is a mixed age group that use different study
outlines and/or courses to enrich their knowledge of the Bible. Often Disciple I, II, and III courses are
offered. Disciple I is an introductory
course that takes 34 weeks to complete.
Twelve persons journey through the Word of God as they discover God's
direction for their lives. Disciple II
and III courses are advanced studies taken after completion of Disciple I. These are 32 week courses that enable each
participant to share their faith and gain understanding of the Biblical
directives. Sunday Bible studies are
usually given either at 12:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.
United Methodist
Women Morris Memorial currently has one circle of United Methodist
Women that meets during the day the second Tuesday of the month at 12:30
p.m. The United Methodist Women are
involved in missions and work on projects that benefit our church, community,
and world parish.
United Methodist
Men The men gather on the third Saturday morning of each month at
8:30 a.m. for prayer breakfast. The
fellowship is great and they share in special local mission activities. Many of the men are very active in
maintaining our church and do a wonderful job keeping the building a special
and safe place to worship God.
Small Groups (Teams) The people of Morris Memorial are encouraged to be a part of a
small group or team. These groups are formed on
an annual basis for study, fellowship, prayer, mission, responsibility, and
accountability. You may call the church
office for additional information.
Volunteer
Ministries There are numerous mission ministries that need volunteers. We work with organizations such as Union
Mission, Community Development, Outreach Ministries, Heart and Hand House,
Covenant House, Sojourners, Manna Meals, Common Ground, and many more. Currently Common Grounds has given the church
weekly lists of what is needed.
Preventicare
Ministries Adults have the opportunity to exercise three times per week
(Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) in our Family Life Center. The classes are targeted for older senior
adults, however, it is open to all adults.
