music MINISTRY

Music is one of the most important ways to provide a strong spiritual emotion to those who gather to celebrate through worship.  At MMUMC Music Ministries is one we really enjoy.  Using all of our emotions the groups have their ability to "Give it all Up for Him!" and to glorify God in worship.  

Adult 

Chancel Choir

Sings Sundays during the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service from September through the middle of June.  Each year a seasonal Cantata is presented by the choir on the Sunday prior to Christmas and Easter. 

Rehearsal: Wednesday from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Micah Choir

Micah Choir is an all-male choir that sings traditional and inspirational music.  The group usually sings at both the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. once a quarter. 

Rehearsal: Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. (usually once a month)

Parker Handbell Choir

Ring for worship services at both the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. during the year; especially during advent and lent.  

Rehearsal: Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Praise Band

Instrumental and vocal group that plays at the 11:00 a.m. blended service though out the year but particularly during June and July.  A small portion of the praise band with the addition of some devoted youth help out the UMYF give a special and unique blend to their Praise Café's. 

Rehearsal: Weekly rehearsals usually on Tuesday's

Children

Kids Praise Choir

Kids Praise is for children 3 years - 5th grade.  They meet on Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m.  The first half hour the children are introduced to Bible stories, crafts, games, and a snack; with lots of upbeat music that follows.  Twice a year Kids Praise produces a musical drama related to passages from the Bible (usually advent and spring).  This group of children lead by Kathy White and her helpers proves to be an enthusiastic, energetic, group and always demonstrate to the adults new love for the Lord. 

Guest Music

Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord!!! Rings in the heart of everyone at Morris.  During the month of August guest musical groups from though out the community and surrounding area help in the celebration of worship at both services. 

One group that is predominate at Morris is Brothers of the Cross; a spiritual bebop group where many of the group are registered members at the church.
